Bacon’s Positive Recommendation Response

Sarah Myers

Bacon gives us a lot of recommendations. I had trouble locating the positive ones. What I get from Bacon is that everything we see is not really the reality we think it is. Our perception distorts reality. That is more along the lines of Bacon’s idols. Bacon I think tells us to sit back and observe instead of trying to infer and invent reasons. That comes from where he talks about Inductive ways of going about science.  I think he tells us that by letting things happen we may allow ourselves to catch a glimpse of truth in reality. By reality he refers to the thoughts of the divine mind?
